Accountants launch channel to help companies find business less taxing
Professional services company Optimum has launched a talk show to help shine a light on the complicated world of accountancy and tax.
Called ‘Optimum Live!’, the monthly shows from the Swindon-based accountancy and law firm are broadcast on YouTube and Facebook.
Of the three shows broadcast so far, one looked under the bonnet of the Chanceller’s Autumn Statement and its impact on businesses and individuals, and another explored the tax rules around gifting at Christmas and how to get ahead in personal tax planning.
During the broadcast, viewers can post comments and ask questions. Anyone not able to watch live can do so later via Optimum’s YouTube channel.
“We wanted to offer an extra level of support to our clients, the majority of whom are small business owners, as well as the wider business community,” said Optimum’s Accounts Director Michael Blaken.
“We pick different topics each time and chat through the ins and outs, hopefully giving some useful information to anyone watching, as well as the opportunity to ask questions. The shows last for about an hour, and we also use excerpts to put out on our social media channels, again with useful information.”
Optimum are also specialists in property law, and there are plans to have episodes dedicated to commercial and residential conveyancing issues.
Optimum Live!, which is completely unscripted, is created by Visual PR and hosted by the its founder Chris Dawes. Chris interviews experts from the Optimum team, including Michael, co-director Rob Stokes, and Head of Assurance and Accounts Hannah Matthews.
