Calne tech firm supporting Wootton Bassett School of Dance performers as they aim for glory at the Dance World Cup in Portugal
Calne-based tech firm Black Nova Designs is thrilled to be sponsoring the Wootton Bassett School of Dance as its members head to the prestigious 2023 Dance World Cup in Braga, Portugal as part of Team England. The Dance World Cup will see 7,000 dancers from 52 countries around the world competing during a week-long contest from the 30th of June to the 8th July. Wootton Bassett School of Dance’s dancers have successfully qualified in 15 dances which include solos, duets, trios and group dances to compete at this year’s Dance World Cup. This is an incredible achievement, as each country is only allocated four places for each age group and genre.
The staff at the Wootton Bassett School of Dance aimed to provide their whole team with the financial support needed to cover entry fees, uniforms and branded team costumes and contributions to other essentials. As well as crowdfunding and completing various fundraising activities throughout the spring, the dance troupe asked local businesses for their sponsorship support. As well as Black Nova Designs, other sponsors include Wason & Webb, Ultimate Coatings Limited, Line X , Zeal Wood Craft, Maris Frances School of Dance and Samuel Miles Sales & Property Management.
Black Nova Designs has close ties with the Wootton Bassett School of Dance as Sales and Marketing Director Danielle Holmes has known the dance school’s co-founders Kate Lawrence and Vicky Lawrence for nearly 30 years. Their association began because Danielle’s sister trained and competed with Vicky back in the 1990s, and now Danielle’s daughter is learning the art of dance from the very same teacher.
The team at Dance Academy are incredibly dedicated and hardworking, caring about the happiness and success of every student they teach. Wootton Bassett School of Dance teaches pupils from preschool age to 18 years old. The instructors are mentors as well as teachers and ensure they instil a mindset that hard work and dedication pay off and help make girls better dancers.
Danielle commented “Kyle and I have spent a lot of time with Vicky and her team over the years, talking business and becoming friends. We’re delighted to support a local family run-business and their dancers as they compete in Portugal and can’t wait to see how they get on!”
