ALLERGY-FREE BRAND CREATIVE NATURE AND ITS FOUNDER SHORTLISTED FOR TOP BUSINESS AWARDS

Julianne Ponan, the founder of allergy-free food brand, Creative Nature, has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards in the Great British Business & Community Awards.

Surrey-based free from food company, Creative Nature, has been shortlisted for the SME of the Year Award, whilst its founder, Julianne Ponan has been shortlisted as Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

The SME of the Year Award is for businesses established for more than two years and recognises an organisation with an annual turnover of up to £25 million that is demonstrating its ability to grow or has a strong potential to do so. The organisers of the Great British Business & Community Awards say that the company must have a clear understanding of the market in which it operates and its future development within that marketplace, together with sound and measurable business practices.

The Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award is open to any female within Great Britain who has either started their own business, played a significant role within an organisation or has either a business directorship or leadership role. 

For both categories, the judges wanted to know how the business has adapted, diversified, contributed to the community and survived during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

It is around ten years since Julianne, who has anaphylaxis and lives with multiple food allergies, founded her award-winning business and started making her own allergy-safe, tasty and healthy snacks out of frustration at the lack of allergen-free products on the market that weren’t packed with additives. 

Julianne used her own life experience to create products that work for people living with allergies and intolerance. Her products are popular across the board as Julianne uses super food ingredients to improve their nutrient value and they are also vegan-friendly and lower in sugar.

Both the company and its CEO, Julianne have won numerous awards for its products and the performance of its team. Julianne has also been named as one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 To Watch and was also asked to be the UK Ambassador for the Teal App (a personal digital food diary for food allergy sufferers) because she is an active campaigner for allergy sufferers in the UK. Last October, Julianne was presented with the Woman Who Achieves Internationally Award followed by her receiving the Entrepreneurial Businesswoman of the Year Award.

Julianne and her team have taken the brand from strength to strength and Creative Nature products can now be found in top supermarkets, High Street retailers and high-end health-conscious stores. Creative Nature’s products are also available to ex-pats globally in 138 countries and they’ve recently moved into the USA and Australia.

When told that she and her company and been shortlisted for two awards, Julianne said: “I am absolutely thrilled that we have been shortlisted in two categories. I’m so proud of where Creative Nature has come with such a small team – especially as it was just me and my partner for the first three years!”

This year, there were over 1600 nominations and the standard of entrants was so high that a record-breaking number were shortlisted for the awards across all the award categories. 

Shortlisted nominees will discover who the winners are at the Great British & Community Awards presentation on Thursday 7th April from 4pm-9pm at The Hilton, Reading.
