Debbie Williams' 2021 Summer Business Plans
Today we're talking to Debbie Williams, company director with one of Wiltshire's most well known heating and plumbing companies John Williams Heating Services Ltd which is based in Chippenham and operating across the county and also in Bath and surrounding areas.
May is the last month of Spring – how has Spring been for you so far?
We have had a very busy spring which is wonderful! After the ups and downs of the last year it's been fantastic to be busy and to be able to support all of our customers safely.
What are your plans for the Summer – for your business and for you?
Summer is our time to rest and recover, work a little less and prepare for the Autumn/Winter season which is always very, very busy. It is also a really good time in the business for us all to catch up with training too, review policies and procedures and general housekeeping.
What are you most looking forward this summer which you had to step away from last summer?
Hopefully hosting a team away day if permitted, we usually do something in the Summer, but obviously not last year, though we did many things online to keep the personal touch going with our supportive team.
We have previously done escape rooms experiences, a Segway experience, 4x4 Land Rover driving, so fingers crossed.
May is National Walking Month, and walking was an activity which was one thing we could do over the last 12 months. Please share your walking experiences in recent years.
John and I are really into walking, and thoroughly enjoy exploring new places to wander, we are so lucky to live in this beautiful part of the country, Wiltshire is full of amazing places to discover. John is also a very keen and committed runner (with me sometimes!) and has raised many thousands for the British Heart Foundation over the last few years and we're very proud of him.
Where is your favourite place to walk?
We live by part of the National Cycle track, and that is my favourite place to walk, it's minutes from our front door, and although its very familiar we love seeing how it changes with the seasons. There's always something new to see and experience even if we know the route well.
Can you name one day in May which is important for you in your business or in your personal life? Why is that date important?
May the 9th is very important to us as it's our granddaughter's birthday, we were unable to share it with her last year, but hopefully this year will be very different.
Are you attending (have you booked) any events at all for you as a business person, or for you personally that you are really looking forward to?
We are booked to go to Womad which is very exciting, we were due to go last year but it was postponed due to Covid.
What’s your one top business tip to help others be positive about their business in May 2021?
Try hard to shop local, support small businesses whatever you are looking for. Listen to a positive podcast each morning and meditate, all these things can help with creating a positive outlook.
Tell us all one funny thing about you which we won’t know and you are happy to share (make us laugh!).
I meant to order three whole beetroots and ordered 3KG in error! Note to self, slow down and do one thing at once, good job we love beetroot!!!
Have you got any Spring services or special offers you’d like to mention?
Yes, we are offering 10% OFF boiler servicing booked in May or June when quoting TGBSPRING10.
And finally:
Thank you to our customers, our suppliers and our business friends for keeping the faith with us over the last year. Let's all shop local and let's all value those small independent SMEs which are so vital to the vitality and diversity in our various business communities.
