Emma Georgiou of Emma Georgiou Coaching shares her October plans!
OCTOBER is here! It’s Q4 and one of the key business moments is, of course, Halloween (or at least for some businesses).
Today we’re talking to Emma Georgiou, Executive Coach, Consultant and Trainer who works with individuals and organisations to help them build resilience, improve performance, and create happier, more cohesive teams.
Emma is based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, but frequently travels across the country to support her clients.
Are you doing anything in October for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
October marks the start of working as a volunteer coach for the charity, Yes Futures. This is a multi award-winning charity, run by experienced qualified teachers. It aims to help young people to reach their full potential by developing their confidence, resilience, self-awareness, and communication skills, so that they feel prepared for the future. This is the fourth cohort of young people I am working with, and I am really looking forward to it
Did you know October 10 is World Mental Health Day? How important is this subject in your business and in your life?
Having increased self-awareness is incredibly important to supporting our mental health and wellbeing. As a coach, I work with lots of people from different backgrounds. Regardless of what we are focusing on in a coaching session, a lot of the work that we do centres on self-awareness, and learning more about we want to achieve, and what is in alignment with our beliefs, values, and personal strengths. Being aware of all these things helps us to notice when things are not quite right, and to know we need to do something to shift the balance. I believe that by improving self-awareness, we are more able to recognise when we need outside help and support to improve our mental health and wellbeing.
The clocks go back this month and we get an extra hour in bed! How do you see ‘time’ in your business?
From a work perspective the changing clocks doesn’t impact my business. But as a parent of a young child, the clocks going back doesn’t equate to an extra hour in bed at all. We still wake up at the same time regardless!
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
I recently relaunched my website and it has a new offer to work with me for six months through 1:1 coaching. The coaching programme is tailored to your needs, and for £999, you get an initial coaching assessment to establish goals, 6 x 60-minute coaching sessions, tools to take away and implement yourself, tasks to complete between sessions and unlimited support via Telegram messaging to help you stay on track. Visit my website to find out more.
And finally, tell us one thing you love about the autumn/winter months?
Autumn is my favourite season! I think this stems from the fact that my birthday is at this time of year. Also, with the start of a new school term, it feels like an opportunity to start again and establish some new goals to take you to the end of the year. I love the colourful leaves and spending time going for walks and finding conkers. We could learn a lot from following the seasons – the trees let go and shed their leaves at this time of year, preparing themselves for winter. It’s about slowing down ready for a period of rest, reflection and recuperation as winter sets in.
