OXFORDSHIRE BASED ENTREPRENEUR APPOINTED AS ALL STAR ACTIVATOR FOR CRICKET PROGRAMME
Oxfordshire based Aaron Lee, founder of Alchem Trading Ltd, is giving back to his community by offering opportunities for young people to learn more about cricket.
Aaron and his friend Nathan Harris are starting an All Stars Cricket programme in Oxfordshire designed to ignite the passion for cricket among children aged five to eight years.
Aaron’s journey with cricket is deeply rooted in family tradition, inherited from his Yorkshire-born father.
Having dedicated nearly two decades to Purton Cricket Club in nearby Wiltshire, Aaron took a pause upon the arrival of his son, Henry. Relocating to Minster Lovell Cricket Club in 2019 was a natural progression, given his familial ties to the club through his father-in-law, who serves as Chairman.
Enrolling his son in All Stars Cricket this year is driven by Aaron’s desire to introduce his child to the joys of cricket and create lasting memories together. Recognising the challenges faced by amateur clubs in recruiting volunteers, Aaron eagerly stepped up to contribute his time and expertise.
"It's not just about cricket; it's about creating lasting memories and instilling a lifelong passion for physical activity," said Aaron. "I’m thrilled to embark on this journey with All Stars Cricket, where every child has the opportunity to shine."
Reminiscing about his days at Purton Cricket Club, Aaron fondly recalls the cherished moments spent amidst the camaraderie of fellow players, the familiar scent of the pavilion, and the sounds of church bells in the distance. These memories serve as a testament to the profound impact cricket has had on his life.
Aaron's partnership with Nathan Harris, forged at Minster Lovell Cricket Club, demonstrates their shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of cricket enthusiasts. As All Star Activators, their mission is to cultivate a love for the game among young participants while ensuring they have a blast on the field.
As parents themselves, they understand the importance of creating memorable experiences for families through the universal language of cricket.
“It's our job to give these kids their first introduction to cricket, but it's all about just keeping moving and having fun. As long as the kids are having a good time, that's all that matters” said Aaron.
The action-packed sessions will be held at Minster Lovell Cricket Club, OX29 0RN. Starting from Friday 10thMay, and running weekly through to Friday 28th June 2024, from 18:00 to 19:00. For more information visit https://www.ecb.co.uk/play/
