FINANCIAL ADVISER PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL CHARITY
Swindon business man Dave Southby, has taken an active stance in contributing to environmental sustainability by aligning with the South West charity Avon Needs Trees.
Since launching his own business in 2021, Dave has not only prioritised growth but has also placed a profound focus on contributing to the community and to being as sustainable as possible.
“Sustainability is very important to me,” Dave said. “I’ve tried to ensure that my business is as sustainable as possible however it’s a process and I do believe that all businesses, large and small, can make small incremental changes that will help safeguard our planet for us and for future generations.”
Avon Needs Trees is a registered charity which aims to create more woodland in the Bristol area and the old county of Avon. As it’s grown it’s now moved more into Wiltshire and has a site Pudding Brook near Chippenham. The charity is dedicated to establishing permanent woodlands as a measure against the climate and ecological challenges.
“We are a carbon neutral business and have been since January 2022,” Dave said. “When I heard about Avon Needs Trees and the new site they are populating near Chippenham, it was perfect timing and something I feel strongly about and wanted to get involved.”
These woodlands being planted by the charity play a crucial role in reducing carbon, enhancing local biodiversity, implementing natural flood management, and, where suitable, offering publicly accessible green spaces.
Actively supporting the region's environmental objectives for achieving carbon neutrality, Dave's business turnover is directly associated with yet another tree-planting Carbon Neutral Britain which plants trees around the world.
Dave is a partner with St James’ Place and helps individuals, families and small business owners to manage their wealth effectively. He specialises in working with people who live in Swindon and North Wiltshire. To find out more about visit https://davesouthbyfp.co.uk/
