FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR THE FAIRFORD STEAM CLASSIC & RETRO SHOW (AKA FAIRFORD STEAM RALLY)
It’s definitely full steam ahead for the Fairford Steam Rally, which is due to return to Fairford under the new name of ‘Fairford Steam Classic & Retro Show’ on Saturday and Sunday August 19 and 20.
Steve Evans, the main man in organising the return of this popular local event, is thrilled to confirm that the venue has been secured, licences obtained and lots of interest shown already from owners of and clubs for steam vehicles; agricultural vehicles; classic cars; motorcycles and vintage cycles; industrial trucks; tractors; commercial vehicles; military vehicles; all things retro and more.
“I am thrilled that there has been so much interest in the show already and I really want the newly revived event to showcase Fairford as much as possible,” said Steve. “It would be great to involve Fairford businesses, clubs, shops and hospitality outlets. Please get in touch with me if you want to take part in this event back after around ten years absence.”
The land being used for the Fairford Steam Classic & Retro Show is 25.5 acres of almost flat land just off the Fairford to Marston Meysey road. There is ample space for all the exhibits, food stands, stalls, a large show arena and, of course, the beer tent!
There is also a great need for sponsorship for this event, so if you would like to help or know someone that can help with a grant or donation, then please contact Steve Evans on 07909 118703.
