HAINES WATTS SWINDON WELCOME NEW AUDIT & ACCOUNTS SENIOR
Will Atkins has joined the team at one of Swindon’s leading accountants and business advisors, Haines Watts as an audit and accounts senior.
Will, aged 38, who lives in Devizes, will work with existing and new clients on both planning and compliance matters related to their accounts and finances. Will has spent the previous five years training with another local accountancy practice qualifying in January last year.
“It’s been a really easy transition because the Haines Watts team are so friendly and welcoming. I already feel comfortable and confident in my new role,” Will said.
Managing partner Mike Lloyd:
“We are very happy Will has made the decision to join us and he’s already proving to be an asset to us all. His appointment is as a direct result of our continued growth as a business and our commitment to providing an unparalleled service to businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations in Swindon, Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.”
Becoming an accountant was a career change for Will who originally trained as a chef – a role he fulfilled for a decade after leaving college.
“In my time as a chef I found I was often helping out with the finances as I’m strong with numbers. In an industry where margins tend to be small, being on top of the finances was extremely important and I then found I was helping other contacts with their accounts too. When I decided to make a change it was a natural step to begin to train formally as an accountant. I already had a good grasp of how a business needed to run its finances to stay healthy, sustainable, profitable and compliant.”
Will is married to Polly and the couple have two young daughters, Isobel aged three and Lucy, aged four months. He is a keen runner and fitness fanatic and regularly takes part in triathlons and half marathons, including those held in Wiltshire.
Will is part of the Haines Watts Swindon family which is part of the national Haines Watts brand. Locally the company has offered a personal and responsive accountancy service for the last 24 years having acquired a local practice that had been in existence since the 1960s.
They work with ambitious companies in and around the town offering a variety of accountancy services including specialist tax planning, research and development planning and are also well known for their expertise in supporting the charity and not for profit sectors.
