James Hilton of Jim's Gym is sharing his plans for the end of the year!
IT’S NOVEMBER! – the year is coming to an end and Q4 is well under way. We’re talking to small businesses about how the last few months of the year are shaping up for them!
Today we’re talking to James Hilton who is the owner of Jim’s Gym which is a virtual gym aimed at keeping people healthy and independent later on in life.
What’s your business highlight for this month or last month?
The launch of Jim’s Gym, my virtual gym for over 55s. My goal with Jim’s Gym is to provide an accessible space for older adults to stay active and independent deep into later life whilst also reducing strain on the NHS and affected families, and, generally, just help people lead happier, more fulfilling lives for longer!
And what about a personal highlight?
I was gobsmacked and honoured to win Theo Paphitis’s Small Business Sunday award alongside four fantastic other small businesses. I am so excited to join this new network of small businesses!
Are you doing anything in November or December for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
I have had several clients sign up for the #standupforcancer ‘100 squats a day challenge’ in November, and to give them a helping hand, I have made my 100 squat challenge workout freely available for anyone who wants to take part and keep the challenge interesting!
What’s your top tip for being positive as we enter the last month of autumn?
There is no time like the present to embark on a fitness journey, especially going into winter. That feeling of renewed confidence, a spring in your step, a boost of the immune system and improved energy to tackle the colder months.
Did you know November 13 was World Kindness Day? Has anyone shown kindness to you in the last month or so? Tell us how you view kindness in your business or professional role?
I regularly remark on how I am surrounded by a core set of amazing people in my business. These people show kindness to me so often and in so many ways, and I feel grateful to be on this journey with them.
Kindness is extremely important to me. Anyone who knows my story will know I, unfortunately, experienced a not-so-kind work environment at my city job, however, this instilled in me the importance of kindness, particularly in the workplace, and how big and positive impact it can have.
Are you preparing for Christmas in your business? Can you share what your plans are going to be?
My Christmas offering provides the perfect gift to older loved ones, whether in-person or online sessions with me or a subscription to my virtual gym, Jim’s Gym. I tailor my packages to suit the individual, whatever their needs and budget.
Have you got any events planned for November or December you’d like to shout about?
It’s looking likely that I will be opening the doors to Jim’s Gym physical space in Stroud town centre! I’m super excited to have a space where local people can visit for an exercise experience like nowhere else.
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
My virtual gym ‘Jim’s Gym’ is running and in full swing. If you are someone who is keen to start a fitness journey but isn’t sure where to start, Jim's Gym is the place for you! Workouts are made super easy, and all from the comfort of your own home. You won't even know you're doing exercise!
