James Phipps Steps Down from Role at SWLEP

James Phipps, CEO of Swindon-based firm Excalibur Communications, and MD of national lifestyle website Total Guide to Ltd, has announced that he’ll be stepping down from his position as Board member of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP).

James joined in January 2013, and having now completed his first term with the SWLEP chose not to extend into a second term so he can focus on growing Total Guide to Ltd and to concentrate on his other businesses and private endeavours.

During his time on the SWLEP Board, James used his extensive experience to help drive forward the four key objectives of: stimulating growth, encouraging inward investment, supporting the creation of jobs and skills, and developing the economic infrastructure of the area.

Commenting on his decision, James said, “My involvement with the SWLEP Board has been extremely satisfying. The SWLEP has achieved a lot during my time on the Board and I am proud to have been involved. The LEP board role is one that requires considerable time and with the continued expansion of Total Guide To and my other businesses it was impossible to commit further.”
