JIM’S GYM FOUNDER SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS #SMALLBIZ100
James Hilton, founder of Jim’s Gym and a specialist in biomechanics and injury recovery, has been selected as one of the 2024 SmallBiz100.
This recognition is part of the annual Small Business Saturday campaign, which highlights 100 small businesses across the UK, one each day for 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday, held on the first Saturday of December. James’ business, based in the Cotswolds, will be highlighted this coming Saturday August 31.
Jim’s Gym is an innovative online platform dedicated to helping people over the age of 55 stay active and lead healthier lives from the comfort of their homes. Offering a subscription-based virtual gym, it provides live classes, on-demand workouts, monthly expert talks, and a thriving community for its members.
James, who operates his gym studio in the heart of Stroud, has built his business around a mission to assist older adults in maintaining their independence and improving their quality of life.
“Being part of the #SmallBiz100 is a tremendous achievement,” James said. “Each year thousands of small businesses apply to be showcased as part of this annual project so I feel truly humbled to have been chosen.
“This recognition will significantly boost the visibility of my mission to make fitness accessible and enjoyable for older adults. I’m excited to connect with more people and positively impact their lives through physical activity."
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign that celebrates small business success. The campaign ends in a nationwide celebration on Small Business Saturday, where customers are encouraged to support small businesses in their communities, both online and in stores.
“Supporting other small businesses and the local community is a core part of my mission at Jim’s Gym,” said James.
“I collaborate with several local health professionals, including a yoga instructor who contributes workouts to our platform, a physiotherapist who receives client referrals and participates in live Q&A sessions, and an NHS/private dietician who educates our members on nutrition in later life.
“I’m committed to expanding these offerings to ensure our community benefits from a well-rounded, holistic approach to health and wellness.”
Over the past 11 years, businesses selected for the #SmallBiz100 have not only gained significant exposure through Small Business Saturday's social media channels and local and national press, but have also had the unique opportunity to attend prestigious receptions in London, including at Downing Street, the House of Lords, and the Treasury Drum with the current Chancellor of the Exchequer.
James will be highlighted by Small Business Saturday on August 31, his dedicated day of promotion across Small Business Saturday’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
