Jo Moss, director of EweMove Estate Agents is sharing her plans for an exciting 2024!
January is in swing, the weather is cold and everyone is back after their Christmas and New Year break! This month we’re talking to small business owners about their plans for 2024.
Up today is Jo Moss, director of EweMove Estate Agents. Jo and her team offer a bespoke and personal estate agency service.
What big things are you looking forward to in 2024?
I am so excited for 2024. It has been a challenging housing market the past 12-18 months but we have taken this time to establish our amazing team and ensure we can offer the best service possible to our customers. The outlook for the 2024 market is very positive with mortgage interest rates more stabilised, the Bank of England Interest rate remaining and inflation coming down, means moving to that dream home becomes more affordable then in recent months.
2024 marks five years of EweMove in Swindon so we are excited for some big birthday celebrations so keep an eye out on our social media pages for exciting opportunities and giveaways to celebrate with us!
This year is a Leap Year. Does that mean anything to you?
2024 being a leap year is exciting as it gives us an extra day to be alive - and who doesn’t want to feel grateful for an extra day?!
Can you share your business ethics for 2024? How do you want your brand to come across?
EweMove puts our customers at the heart of everything we do. We understand that moving home can be a stressful and emotional time and we are with our customers every step of the way. You have the full support from a single person from the day we come out to value your home to the day we hand the keys over to the new owner.
We are involved with every aspect of your move, from carrying out viewings, negotiating offers, speaking with your buyers, other agents in the chain, solicitors etc and we keep you fully informed and updated throughout the transaction. You’ll never have to call an office and try to find someone to talk to that knows what is going on with your sale/purchase.
We take immense pride in what we do, our marketing plan is second to none, and your sale will have our full attention.
What are you planning to do differently or better in 2024?
We would like to increase our sponsorship and support of local clubs, charities and schools in the areas we cover. So if anyone is looking for support then please get in touch!
Our plan is to become the local go-to property experts, so we will be setting up podcasts, clinics and open chats on a monthly basis to cover the current housing market and what activity is going on in the area. We will also offer advice and hints and tips when you are thinking of selling or buying a property, what you can expect from the process and what to look for in your estate agent.
What are you doing for charity or community this year?
We are headline sponsors of the South Cerney Street Fair which is a fantastic event held in the village of South Cerney during the last Bank Holiday in May. The whole village is closed for a weekend of Live Music events and culminates with a Street Fair throughout the village with lots of local stalls and games and the infamous Duck Race where thousands of little plastic ducks race through the river Bow Wow in the centre of the village. Monies raised goes back to the village to support local community clubs and charities.
We are also sponsoring Minety Music Festival which promises to be a great event as well as lots of sponsorship and gifts to local schools PTA fundraising events throughout the year.
This year will be a big year of sport – most notably the Olympics and Paralympics. If you enjoy these events can you name those moments you watched/experienced which have stayed with you? Why?
I was lucky enough to go to the Olympic Stadium in London in 2012 to watch the athletics. It was such an awe inspiring day. The dedication these athletes have to become the best in their sport is admirable. I don’t think I will ever forget ‘Super Saturday” - Unfortunately, I wasn’t in the stadium this day, but at home, watching it on TV as Team GB won Gold after Gold was a truly memorable occasion.
There are multiple ‘awareness’ days & weeks & months in January 2024 – could you pick just one and say why you’ll be engaging with it?
I think Mental Health is an extremely important subject and having struggled this past year with my own mental health following a serious illness at the end of 2022, Blue Monday, on January 15th, is close to my heart. This year I hope to support anyone struggling with depression or mental health issues to talk and to think positive.
