Jodie Fraser of Fraser Allen Estate Management is sharing her plans for the end of 2023!
IT’S NOVEMBER! The year is coming to an end and Q4 is well under way. We’re talking to businesses about their plans for the final two months of the year.
Today we're talking to Jodie Fraser, founder and CEO of Fraser Allen Estate Management which is an award-winning block management specialist in the residential sector. With their head office in Cheltenham, the team also covers Bristol, Bath and Wiltshire.
What’s your business highlight for this month or last month?
I have started recording my brand-new podcast ‘Beyond Four Walls’ with some amazing guests. The podcast will be released officially in January.
And what about a personal highlight?
I turned 40 in October, and I was lucky enough to celebrate in Venice, which was beautiful.
This month was Bonfire Night & Diwali. Do either of those hold meaning or memory for you?
I remember growing up and I would watch the local fire work display with my dad from my bedroom window. My dad was always very nervous about me being around fireworks, so it was nice to share this special moment with him as we watched together, especially now he is no longer with us.
November represents Movember, Men’s Health Awareness Month and International Men’s Day (Nov 19). What, if anything does this mean to you?
Men’s Health Awareness and International Men’s Day is important to understand and acknowledge. I’ve lost two important men in my life, my dad and my grandad, so it’s even more important to me that my husband is happy and healthy, not just for me, but for our daughter.
Are you doing anything in November or December for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
I support the Hollie Gazzard Trust, and in November we will be raising money for the Trust at the annual dinner. All money raised will go towards the charities mission to eradicate knife crime and raise awareness around domestic abuse.
What’s your top tip for being positive as we enter the last month of autumn?
Appreciate and enjoy the changing colours of the leaves. It’s such a pretty time of year. But also, as the dark nights draw in, take care of yourself and get outside and take in as much sunlight as possible.
Did you know November 13 was World Kindness Day? Has anyone shown kindness to you in the last month or so? Tell us how you view kindness in your business or professional role?
Kindness is one of the most important aspects of my business and I believe at times it can get forgotten when everyone is really worried with everything going on in the world.
However, as a business owner, it’s important to me that we set the standards high for kindness and compassion to those we work with.
I must also give a shout out to my team, Alice Baker, Carol Gaston and Hannah Edwards, who show kindness to me every day.
Are you preparing for Christmas in your business? Can you share what your plans are going to be?
In our industry, a lot of trades close down around Christmas, but we make sure any planned maintenance is arranged in advance and we are then available to assist with emergencies.
Are there any awareness days or special weeks in November which are relevant to your business?
Anti-Bullying Week is something I am personally an advocate for after being bullied terribly in school for a number of years.
Bullying has had a significant impact on me, that has affected me during my adult life. Preventing bullying in all areas of life, but particularly in schools, should be of the highest priority.
Have you got any events planned for November or December you’d like to shout about?
Myself and my colleague Alice are attending an awards ceremony in London in November organised by News on the Block. Alice is a finalist for New Property Manager of the Year, and I am a finalist for Professional of the Year and Regional Property Manager of the Year.
We’re both very excited to attend and honoured to be finalist.
And finally, is there anything else you’d like to say?
Thank you to Total Guide and Fiona Scott for their continued support.
