Kelly Swingler' 2021 Summer Business Plans
It's July the second summer month and this month has two main themes - are we going to have more freedom and what about all of that sport on offer?
Today we're discussing some of those things with Kelly Swingler, executive coach at kellyswingler.com who works with professional women.
Based in Peterborough, Kelly works with clients from around the world. To find out more visit https://www.kellyswingler.com
What are your plans for July in your business?
This month it’s coaching, coaching and coaching with two workshops. One workshop “Be Your Own VIP” will take place 9am to midday on Wednesday 14th July with a focus on helping women to feel confident about their goals. The other workshop “Reignited – moving from burned out to fired up” is a two-part workshop being held on 21st and 28th July for 90 minutes on both dates.
What are your personal plans for this month?
I’ve got my penultimate Yoga Training on 10th and 11th July and I’ll be teaching for most of the weekend. My partner Mick celebrates his birthday on 12th July and we’re looking forward to going out-out as a family to celebrate.
My parents renew their wedding vows on 25th July, celebrating 40 years of marriage and we’ll be having a family meal after the renewal as they can’t have the big party they were hoping to have to celebrate.
July 19 has been dubbed ‘freedom day’ what things will you be looking forward to in business and life that you’ve had to put on hold?
Being able to meet up with friends and family from across the UK properly.
Travelling to London, on the train, for a day with friends.
Getting to the beach
It’s also the month when the summer Olympics – Tokyo 2020 – begin. Do you have any Olympic anecdotes to share?
I was lucky enough to secure tickets for 2012 in London and the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. For super Saturday we were away as a family with my parents and we were all shouting at the TV all evening.
July is often associated with sport in the UK – with other events like the British Open (golf) and also Wimbledon? How important is sport to you in your life or business?
I always fancied myself as a Wimbledon superstar, I just lacked the ability of a powerful serve. I’ve always loved sport. It’s been years since I played as part of a team, but cycling and yoga are still very much part of my life. Solo activities made better in a group.
July 17 is also World Emoji Day - what do you think of emojis:
I don’t understand sentences made up of them, but I love a smiley face, a celebration emoji and the heart. I probably overuse them, particularly in email and on LinkedIn, but I think it’s habit now and part of my signature.
Can you name one business you’d like to give a summer shout out too? Who has gone the extra mile for you recently?
Just one? It would have to be Kayleigh Lloyd at Lloyd Creative for helping with my new rebrand and continuing to work behind the scenes to help bring it all to life.
Have you got any events planned for the coming months which you’d like to mention – where you and/or your business will take a leading role?
The workshops in July, 14th – Be your own VIP, Reignited on 21st and 28th July.
And launching on 1st September – “Be Your Own VIP” – an online community for professional women to focus on mental, emotional, physical, financial and spiritual wellbeing to help them succeed in their careers without burning out.
