Your Total Guide To Business

Bowman House (Business Sponsor)

Let’s Celebrate Local!

By Neil Moore, commercial, business, agricultural and marine specialist is a professional photographer working from his studio near Marlborough, yet travelling all across the UK.

How are you feeling about your business?

Moore Photographics is in a strong position with all our offerings and new skills and disciplines learned during lockdown. I'm also starting to get out and about doing socially distanced shoots including golf courses, farms and agricultural businesses.

How are you feeling about business in general?

The strong bounce after lockdown has helped us recover much of our lows from this time.  However things have settled down now, as our clients are assessing their needs for Q4 and more importantly Q1 after the Brexit deadline.

We are looking forward to assisting our existing and new clients as they become ready for the next phase in growth and challenges.

Tell us how you now apply this phrase to your business and/or life ‘buy local supply local’.

Personally I buy local as much as I can and I appreciate the value of small independent businesses. These businesses generally care more about their customers whether they are product or serviced based.

What has changed for you positively as a result of lockdown?

During lockdown my team and I were able to use the time to learn new skills to further enhance our offering to existing and new clients.  Amongst these skills are enhanced video editing and to develop packages working in partnership with a qualified drone pilot offering aerial photography and videography.

What makes a good local business?

One that cares about the community and sector it serves and also cares about the service it offers. The latter is also the same for any business. A good local business will often provide local job opportunities or freelance work to the local service sector. This type of business will embrace its community and be proud of where it sits geographically.

Can you shout out to any local suppliers you wish to celebrate?

DC Computers in Swindon have come to my rescue on a number of occasions, and I am always pleased to be able to buy my computer components and parts from them rather than a large on-line shop. I recommend them 100% .

Can you shout out to any other Wiltshire businesses you wish to celebrate?

1. WJ Cook and Sons – expert antique restorers in Marlborough, a family run business with over 50 years experience - https://www.wjcookandsons.co.uk

2. Bertie Golightly – Clothing Boutique in Marlborough - https://www.bertiego.co.uk

3. Bevirs Law – https://www.bevirs-law.co.uk

Can you name someone who has really helped you during this time?

I have met many business owners over the many years I have been in business, but the one that stands out most for me is Zahir Mo from Herefords Solicitors based in London - specialist employment solicitors

We have spoken many times during this challenging period and been able to offer mutual support.

Can you name on person in your life who has really helped you during this time?

I think this is an easy answer – my parents have been especially supportive during this time, and I am truly lucky to have them still.

What are your business plans for Q4?

During Q4 I am looking to consolidate and also promote extensively the many specialised aerial photo/video disciplines, we can offer. No project is too small or too large.

Any special offers you’d like to mention?

Having a commercial photographic studio we are keen to fill the studio with products to be photographed and to this end we are happy to offer for a limited time, a 20% discount, to those who react to this article.

Anything else you’d like to say?

A very warm thank you, to all who have helped me and my business during these difficult times, and I look forward to continue helping my clients and friends.
