How are you feeling about your business at the moment?
I feel positive about it. After the first couple of weeks of lockdown I started to get enquiries about writing or updating Terms & Conditions for a wide variety of businesses who either didn’t have any and thought they should in the current climate, or businesses who had pivoted their services and wanted to check their terms covered them still.
The need for strong credit management systems has become very apparent and that has led to an influx of work.
How are you feeling about business in general?
I think it’s going to be a tough time ahead for many businesses but with the right support and attitude there are opportunities out there for taking.
Tell us ways in which you now apply this phrase to your business and/or life ‘buy local supply local’.
Most of my suppliers were already local businesses I’d met through networking so nothing much has changed there.
I buy local where possible and value local business owners. Why wouldn't I when I am one myself!
What has changed for you positively as a result of lockdown?
I have spent more time working on my business and broadening my network.
What makes a good local business?
For me, it's a business that is active in the local community and supports other businesses in the area.
Can you name a local business which you support around food & drink?
My husband and I very much enjoyed our regular lockdown delivery of Ice Cream from Rays Home Made Ice Cream in Old Town.
Can you shout out to local clients you wish to celebrate?
I have a number of clients who are also suppliers and I’d like to thank them all for continuing to support me through this difficult time:
Can you name one person in business who has really had your back over the last few months?
Julia Blake, of Blake Consultants Ltd. Not only has she helped me to set up my CRM and email marketing software but has also been my biggest source of referrals in recent months. She has been a real champion for my business.

Can you name a person in your life who has really helped you during this time?
Not a person, but my dog Bella. She keeps me grounded as she has simple needs. She gets me out in the fresh air, I love our long walks together, even in the wind and rain, and she seems to know when cuddles are needed!
What are your business plans for Q4?
I will be hosting a webinar with a panel of experts, focused on business growth, and releasing an eBook, 101 Tips to Improve Your Cashflow.
Any special offers you’d like to mention?

Anything else you’d like to say?
I’ve not been able to name check everyone who has supported me in some way over the last six months but want you all to know I will be eternally grateful.
