Liz Hutchings Honoured as Female Entrepreneur of the Year at South West Business Awards

Liz Hutchings, founder of Total Guide to Ltd, was awarded the Female Entrepreneur of the Year at the South West Business & Community Awards held on 12th March at the Doubletree by Hilton in Swindon.

Liz spent the majority of her life in and around Swindon before moving to Poole, Dorset. Frustrated by the lack of a comprehensive digital hub for local businesses, residents, and students, Liz took the initiative to create one. The idea was conceived in November 2011, leading to the launch of Total Guide to Swindon in March 2012. Since then, Total Guide to Ltd has expanded to include sites in Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol, Manchester, Reading, Cardiff, and Dorset.

Reflecting on the awards ceremony, which featured businesses from Dorset, Cornwall, Devon, and the broader South West region, Liz remarked, "It was great to catch up with businesses, suppliers and clients from when I set the business up 13 years ago."

Upon accepting her award, Liz said, "It is really fitting to win the award on our 13th anniversary in Swindon, where the first site went live and where it was founded, amongst many of our clients, and friends of Total Guide to. We are an all-female team, and I feel so proud."

Liz expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you to all of my team for making me feel so motivated every day and making the journey so enjoyable. Thanks for their tenacity and kindness, and I'm super pleased to be recognised."

This accolade adds to Liz's previous recognition, including being named Wiltshire Business Person of the Year in 2014. Total Guide to Ltd has also won several awards over the years, such as Best Bath Business Website, Best Place to Work in Poole, Business Woman of the Years Awards, Business of the Year in Poole.

The South West Business & Community Awards celebrate the region's business community's achievements, resilience, innovation, and creativity.
