Looking forward to Christmas?
By Matt Barnes, Director of Swindon's best known coach hire and holiday company.
What does Christmas 2020 mean for you in your business?
Getting people away to Christmas Markets throughout the UK and Europe on day trips and holidays.
Or are you a business owner who thinks more of ‘autumn/winter’ rather than Christmas?
Trips normally start around 1st November so that is our Christmas “season” and planning starts a lot earlier.
In your business – when do you start planning Christmas?
We have to book hotels up to 18 months out so Christmas is pretty much always there.
Will your business be operating differently during Quarter 4 2020?
Unfortunately, lots of our most popular attractions this year such as Christmas markets and Winter Wonderland in London will not be open so yes, it will be very different this year.
Are you planning any events in Quarter 4, virtual or real world?
YES. We will be running lots of shopping trips to places such as London, Bristol and Birmingham. Plus holidays to experience pre-Christmas fun. We also have seven holidays away for Christmas itself and for for the New Year.
Have you got any 2020 milestones you wish to share?
This year has been our 100th Anniversary, we had loads planned but much has unfortunately been unable to happen. Now that's an anniversary definitely worth noting!
Have you faced some challenges which have changed things for you?
Pretty much everything we do has changed this year so we have all had to adapt to get things as close to normal as we can for our passengers, whilst ensure complete safety.
How are you feeling generally about business in your community at this time?
We have been working and spending more and more locally during the pandemic. We are here to help all other local businesses and customers if they need are advice or services to get back up and out safely.
And finally...
2020 has been tough for pretty much every company, but if you are still here it shows you have a good set up and good people involved.
