March Talk with Charlott McAnsh
It’s March! The first month of Spring, and the month when the clocks go forward. What’s going on in the world of business this month! Today we're talking to Charlott McAnsh who is a sirector of See No Bounds which is a business directory that is based all around an online business community.
How is March looking for you in your business?
March is a great month for us as people are planning ahead and we are looking to do lots more face to face events with our community. We have also set up a Virtual Office Business that can now offer our members a Cardiff address and hot desking as well as many more services.
Our next event is our popular Walk and Talk which are free to attend and this time we will be walking Cheddar Gorge in The Mendip Hills. You can find our events and our members' events, workshops, and webinars on See No Bounds Events Board.
Are you taking part in any wider events or business collaborations this month?
We are very excited to take part in The Dyslexia Show at the NEC Birmingham on 25th and 26th March.
This has been organised by Arran Smith, a Dyslexia entrepreneur and we have both our member and dyslexia coach Guy Brewer speaking at the event as well as very own founder and motivational speaker Jamie McAnsh.
Jamie is severely dyslexic, and to help spread positivity and understanding about dyslexia we also host a podcast together with Guy Brewer called TalkPAD – talking positively about dyslexia.
This month it’s International Women’s Day, Pancake Day, St David’s Day, National No Smoking Day – is there an awareness day or week this month which is important to you or your business?
As we are a business directory and have members that most awareness days can relate to this is something that we make the most of.
For International Women’s Day we will be celebrating our member and photographer Helen Richmond and her beautiful photographs taken at the PR Retreat hosted by Fiona Scott from Scott Media.
To celebrate Pancake Day we got together with our member Sara Butler from Cook Stars and see what they get up to on Pancake Day
On National No Smoking Day we will interview our hypnotherapists specialising in helping clients to stop smoking.
Did you know that March 18 is Awkward Moments Day? Can you share any awkward moments with us in business or life?
My biggest most awkward moment was when I went skiing a long time ago. I was about 15 years old and I am scared of heights so I had never done downhill skiing, only cross country before.
My friend convinced me to try it on school sports day. I managed to get on to the lift after a few attempts and she said to get off halfway up so we could practise in a quieter part. We got off and went to the side to practise. By this point all the older students had arrived and were queuing up for the lift and of course this included many gorgeous boys that we looked up to being a 15 year old girl.
I slipped on my skis and went into a rapid crazy speed downhill and only stopped when I reached a post that I could cling on to. To say that I was super embarrassed is an understatement. Even now!
March is also Mother’s Day (March 27) is this an important day for your business?
Mother’s Day is always a special day for all our hospitality businesses, and we will promote their offers and events during this time.
Would you like to share your thoughts about your mother or grandmother?
I would like to share my story about my grandmother who was the one that taught me never to give up and when you fall over you must get back up. She had never travelled outside of my birth country Sweden but encouraged me to learn about the world and explore and to let me know that anything is possible, as long as you work hard for it.
In the yearly cycle of your business – what do you expect during March?
We always plan our 30/60/90 day goals which we first put in to practise whilst attending some mentoring sessions with Mark Wright, owner of Climb Online and winner of The Apprentice 2014.
Our goal for March is to complete our marketing strategy for the next quarter and look at the results from our marketing campaign from the last quarter.
Have you got any special offers for March or April that you’d like to mention?
As we are stepping into spring we would like to offer all readers a spring discount which will be available from 1st March until 1st April with the code SPRING30 and will entitle you to a 30% discount on any paid listing.
And finally:
