It’s March! The first month of Spring and the month the clocks have just gone forward so it's lighter nights and less time asleep! What's the world of business looking like this week? Today we're talking to Julianne Ponan who is founder and CEO of Creative Nature which is a Top 14 Allergen Free company with a range of baking mixes, confectionery, snack bars and superfoods. Creative Nature aims to make the world a safer and more enjoyable place for all food allergy sufferers.

How is March looking for you in your business? 
March for us is a very busy month. Now that consumer and trade shows are back up and running we are attending the Ideal Home Show (consumer) and IFE (trade show). It is so great to be back at the shows, they are so much fun and just love interacting with your customers face to face again. We’ve also got our first full container order going to Australia, which is so exciting, seeing our Gnawbles go global!

Are you taking part in any wider events or business collaborations this month? 
I am newly a part of a new movement called Buy Women Built which is all about recognising female founded products. To be alongside these amazing women is empowering and I’m excited to make a change all together. Find out more here Julianne Ponan, Founder and CEO of Creative Nature.

This month it’s International Women’s Day, Pancake Day, St David’s Day, National No Smoking Day – is there an awareness day or week this month which is important to you or your business? 
International Women’s Day is an important one for my business. Being a female founder and CEO it's a day I love to celebrate along with all the other female founders out there. 

I have been faced with a lot of hateful comments during my journey as a young female entrepreneur and this is a day about celebrating how far I have come in achieving my goals and growing my business! Also, Pancake Day wouldn’t be the same without a Creative Nature pancake mix!   

Mother’s Day (March 27) took place at the weekend, is this an important day for your business? 
We’ve got a Limited-Edition Mother’s Day hamper, so families with food allergies can enjoy the special day without fear of allergic reactions. It’s always an important day, recognising such an important role model in our lives, but we’re also conscious of those who might have lost their mothers or daughters and who just need someone to be there for them.

Would you like to share your thoughts about your mother, a mother figure in your life or your life with a mother or as a mother? 
My mum is incredible, she was a rock for me growing up, even though I never really appreciated the forced homework and study sessions! I’m even more grateful this year as my mum suffered a serious brain injury last year and we didn’t know if she would pull through, so everyday she’s here is a blessing (and she’s incredible at looking after my new puppy when I’m away working!)
