September Talk with Ben Lee from Beryl Bikes
September is here. It's the month when autumn officially arrives - the autumn equinox is on September 22. What does this month hold for you and your business? What are you looking forward to for the rest of this year? What events are pending for you? What advice would you give to others? What are you grateful for in September?
Today we're talking to Ben Lee who is partnerships & campaigns lead for the brand Beryl. The company supplies micromobility sharing systems for towns and cities encouraging the modal shift away from private car usage to a bike or e-scooter system. We are based in London and have operations in London, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Isle of Wight, Watford, Norwich, Hereford and Manchester.
What’s coming up for your business this month?
We are working on campaigns for Car Free Day (Sept 22) alongside many environmental projects and working with all the universities and colleges in our service areas as students and staff return. We are also launching the first public e-Cargo Bike sharing system in the country in London.
What are your personal plans for this month?
To try our new e-Cargo bikes for a big shop!
September is also known as ‘organic’ month – do you shop, dress, or behave with green ethics in mind?
Yes, this is something I am passionate about and part of the reason I love working for Beryl and personally cycle everywhere.
What are your hopes for business in general this year?
To see more cities and towns of all sizes implement a bike sharing system so the public don’t have to drive short journeys and have a viable commuting alternative.
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
Car Free Day campaign - do look out for it!
And finally, as a bit of fun, September marks Teddy Bear Day? Do you have your childhood teddy bear – or are you a bit of a kid with ‘grown up’ teddy bears?
Definitely had a Mickey Mouse hahaha
