Tell us about yourself Gareth
I'm a graphic designer and my passion is uncovering the brilliance in every bold and brave business. I have run my business since 2012 and built a career in design, working at independent design agencies in Staffordshire, Birmingham and Leicestershire after completing my degree in 2005. I am married to Sarah and my beautiful daughter Emily was born in 2017. I love Rugby Union and I used to play in Warwickshire for Spartans RUFC, although my playing days were cut short at 31 due to a bad head injury; grab a 121 with me to find out more on that! My other sporty passion is boxing, although I have never boxed competitively, I do enjoy the style of training.
Tell us all about Design Pit
Design Pit is a creative company that creates graphic design for branding and print projects. Our work helps our clients be seen, heard and remembered so they get and keep more customers. We not only create great designs but we also guide on creative strategy in marketing campaigns. In 2019 we launched our first eCommerce division to the business, Print Pit. A fully automated online print shop for all things print - business cards to banners, promo items to expo gear and also branded workwear. These are our key areas of specialism but we also work on design projects for the web by partnering with trusted development partners up and down the UK.

Any exciting news to share for 2024?
We are finalising details for a new signage installation service so we can complete signage projects from design to production to delivery to installation. This will be rolled out nationwide with a specialist network of UK fitters.
When you’re not busy working, what do you love doing in your time off?
My hobbies have changed since my daughter was born! While it used to be playing rugby, going to the gym and beers with mates - my weekends are generally spent hanging out with my wife and daughter. Going on long walks, playing at the park or going on day trips. A fairly typical existence for a young family! Aside from that, on the rare occasion that I get a weekend for myself free, I will try to climb some mountains whenever possible or go to watch rugby or boxing live. I've completed the Three Peaks Challenge once in 2012 and had a second but unsuccessful attempt in 2019; as it is one all, I may have another crack at it again soon...
Tell us about your favourite restaurant
Far too many great places to mention! As a Brummie, I do like a curry so the Lal Bagh Indian in my hometown of Lichfield scores pretty highly in my book! Or any decent steakhouse or seafood restaurant.
