Gemma George from Horizon Experiences - Summer Q&A 2021

Let's continue to celebrate the variety of business owners we have in our region and beyond. Today we're talking to Gemma George who is the director of Horizon Experiences. The company specialises in all things outdoors from large open air cinematic experiences; beautifully decorated bell tent glamping; inspired and intricately dressed picnic table hire; a breath-taking canopy under the stars; a more intimate and private garden and indoor cinema show as well as the ultimate indoor sleepovers with our wigwams and teepee hire for sleepovers.

JUNE is the first month of Summer – what will you be doing this summer in your business?

We’re gearing up for a busy summer already with the launch of our residency partnership with The Relish Group and our open air cinema to be based in the heart of the Cotswold Water Park. Showing some favourites and new films to suit everyone. We are busy promoting the event, focusing on driving the ticket sales and building a welcoming, trustworthy brand focused on the customer experience.  

Does June hold any particular significance for your business?  

We’re officially six months old! 

June is National Smile Month. With that in mind, what things in your business make you smile? 

Creating environments for people to cherish lasting memories is what motivates us to maintain such high standards. 

Are there any things in business generally which make you ‘less smiley’?

Behind Horizon Experiences we’re a real family with four little people in tow. On the longer work days, they all get a little bored….however, we hope that with the growth anticipated for the summer we can grab some much needed cherished time together to create our own memories.

June is often associated in nature with growth and abundance – what are your plans for growth?

June will be a pivotal moment for the open air cinema launch and will really give us an idea of what the summer holds. We’re very excited to see how it progresses. 

As we hit this mid point in 2021 and we’re still coming out of the pandemic – which one business has really supported or helped you over the last quarter? 

We work with so many suppliers and local business’s, it’s tricky to pick one. Most recently, the lovely team at Hospitality Services have saved our bacon a few times with last minute requirements. Nothing is ever to much trouble for them! We’re huge fans!

We’ve managed to pull through the pandemic and are coming back fighting strong. Our DNA and values are based on:
