Tell us about File Stream and the services you provide...

We are a document management software company, we provide software that keeps all of your documents secure in the cloud or on-premise.

How much experience do you have in IT & Software and how did this equip you for your role now?

I have 30 year’s experience in IT & Software and although this has taught me a lot you never stop learning and keeping up to date with new issues that customers face on a day-to-day basis.

What is an obstacle you recently faced for a client and how was this resolved?

Data security is an issue we see all too often, what File stream can do is keep all that information encrypted so it can not be accessed outside of the software and also we can apply permissions that stop anyone seeing documents that they should not.

Many companies waste time looking for documents costing them valuable time and money, if they were in Filestream these could be searched and found within seconds.

How do you stay updated with the latest trends and technologies?

We are always looking at the future road map for our software and using the latest tools to develop our software also allows us to stay ahead, we also have a wish list which allows our customers to ask for functionality that will help them in the future of their business as well so we are helping them move forward.

What do you see changing going forward in your industry?

More and more companies are using less paper so having electronic capture of documents at source such as invoices and HR documentation not only gives them security but also helps them with their sustainability and carbon footprint.

Why is document management important?

The link below has lots of reasons that some companies do not even realise are a benefit to them, I always look at document management as being a disaster recovery tool, a security tool, a reputational tool and time and cost saving tool.
