Rachel Gearon

NEW FACE AT SWINDON’S KEY PERFORMANCE TRAINING

Swindon-based Key Performance Training has appointed Rachel Gearon as an executive assistant to the directors. The appointment forms part of a planned expansion following the company’s recent move to larger premises in Kembrey Park.

Rachel joins the family-run business following 16 years in the stationery industry. She is married to David Gearon, the company’s training director.

Key Performance Training is the only lift truck training centre in Swindon, providing forklift training to men and women looking for work or who want to expand their skill set. In addition, the company offers training in first aid, health and safety, and courses for fire marshals and wardens.

Rachel said: “The company is very positive, very driven and very focused on personal development. The people are all very friendly and whilst we are very busy, everyone is kind and supportive. It’s also really rewarding work because we genuinely change people’s lives by helping get them into work, so it’s a privilege to be a part of that process.”

The RTITB (Road Transport Industry Training Board) approved training centre had outgrown its old offices and its relocation will allow it to offer new services and increase the numbers of people who can be offered training.

Rachel’s role will evolve over the coming months with plans for her to become the general manager. Her current role will then be recruited alongside other roles as the business continues to grow.

Rachel adds: “I have experience in setting up new teams, in delivering high levels of customer service, and in change management, so I hope that with my help, the business will grow from strength to strength and be able to help more and more local people and businesses.”

And what does Rachel’s husband, David, feel she has brought to the business?

“Having Rachel onboard has enabled me to have more time to work strategically on developing the business, as well as ensuring we deliver a high standard of training every day. She has already streamlined several processes, so I’m now free to work on growth and expansion plans.”

Key Performance Training also helps businesses in the area maintain licences, knowledge and skills that are needed for their continued development and success  through regulated industrial sector training and certification. For more information visit https://keyperformancetraining.co.uk
