Paul Day, of Filestream Systems, shares what's happening for the company this month!

It’s April, the second month of Spring and does this mean April showers or will it be a time of sunshine end to end? We’re catching up with some business owners this month to see how things are looking for them during April.

Today it’s the turn of Paul Day who is a Technical Director at Filestream Systems Ltd based in Wokingham. Filestream Systems Ltd is a secure document management software that enables you to access your documents securely from anywhere in the world and supports you in avoiding GDPR breaches.

April is the first month with lighter evenings. How are you making the most of this?
I love being able to get home from work and it still be light out. This means that it’s still daylight so I get to walk my dog in the daylight of an evening! No more leaving work in the dark and getting home in the dark!

How is April looking for you in your business? 
Next week is the Great British Business Awards and we’re one of the main sponsors and because of that I’m also a judge. On the evening of the actual event I get to present awards which is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the work that small businesses have done!

Are you doing anything for charity or community this month that you’d like to share? 
As above I’ll be at the Great British Business Awards as Filestream is a sponsor and the events raise money for a charity called Cherishers who do some amazing work in the north of the country,

Allergy Awareness Week – April 22 to 28
National Scrabble Day – April 13
World Heritage Day – April 18

There are many more – are there any awareness days/weeks/months which are particularly important for your business?
We won’t be taking part in any of the ones mentioned above but we will be taking part in RIM Month (Records and Information Management Month). It’s an internationally known initiative that underscores the critical role that records and information management play in the efficiency and effectiveness of organisations worldwide.

RIM Month is in its 29th year and was created by ARMA International. They have a wealth of knowledge on their website to support people with their education and have hashtags that can be used on social media #ARMARIMMonth and #RIMMonth so that everyone can share their knowledge.
