Professional services team have charity support in ‘mind’
The generous-hearted team at accountancy and law firm Optimum Professional Services have announced the charity they will be supporting for 2023 - Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind.
Fundraising is already underway, with two of the team – Operations Director Tracey Heath and Accounts Senior Tracey Alexander – taking part in a squat challenge.
The two Traceys are each completing 50 squats a day during February and hope their efforts will kick off the fundraising.
“It’s hard work but great exercise for the start of the year, and we are spurred on by knowing it’s all for such a good cause,” said Tracey Heath.
Optimum, which specialises in accountancy and property law, and is based in Swindon and Cheltenham, supports a local charity each year. For the last two years, the team have been fundraising for Wiltshire-based Youth Adventure Trust and during that time netted a fantastic £4,500.
They came up with all sorts of ways to raise the money, from taking part in a 10 Peaks Challenge, to baking, to running raffles, to walking a half-marathon along the Ridgeway.
Philippa Cox, Corporate Partnerships Manager for Youth Adventure Trust, said: “The funds raised are the equivalent of four young people joining us for one whole year of outdoor activity and adventure to help build their confidence, resilience and positive aspirations. Post-pandemic our young people needed support more than ever and Optimum Professional Services were there to help.”
Now the Optimum team are dreaming up different ways to support Mind. In the meantime, to sponsor Tracey Alexander visit here. Or to support Tracey Heath visit here.
