Rachel Weaven, of face2face HR, is looking forward to a busy summer!

It's July the second summer month and it's the time when school ends of the academic year and holiday season begins.

Up today is Rachel Weaven, HR Consultant of face2faceHR. Rachel offers tailored, flexible HR solutions to small – medium sized businesses in and around the Swindon and Marlborough area.

What are your plans for July in your business?
I’m running a webinar on 23 July with Louise Hunt Skelley all around how to help workplaces more inclusive which I’m super excited about. We’re also running them in September and October.  Other than that, I am supporting my clients with all their HR requirements and looking to book some Neurodiversity training.

What are your personal plans for this month?
My youngest is finishing primary school so lots of assemblies, parties and plays going on. Also got family from America visiting which is super exciting

Do you like sport – and if so do any sporting tournaments or events stand out for you this month or coming up? Do you engage in any sports you’d like to mention? Are you a member of a local team at all?For those of you that don’t know I sponsor the local ice hockey team the Swindon Wildcats, it’s my third year now and I’m the proud sponsor of the sinbin! It’s something me and the family do on Saturdays so can’t wait to get back to it in September! I do also love a bit of athletics so looking forward to watching Paris!! I attempt to do kickboxing and go with my daughters; we are all on our last belt of the beginners programme and I love going with them although don’t like being on the end of their hook punches or roundhouse kicks!

On a much lighter note – July 17 is World Emoji Day and this often trends on social media. What do you think of emojis? Do you use them?
I love an emoji! My favourites being the monkey covering its eyes, the eye roll and the one with tongue out  

Can you name one business you’d like to give a summer shout out too? Who has gone the extra mile for you recently?
For me one business that always supports me and goes that bit more than they should is Mike Land of Nickel Design. We’re in partnership as Regional Leads for Business Buzz Wiltshire but he’s always there as a friend and fellow business owner, plus he’s taking on this insane world of record attempt plus lots of other things? How he finds time I’ll never know!

As a consumer have you visited a local business, bought their products or services and thought ‘I must recommend them’! If so here’s your chance – what business would you recommend this summer?
After going for a really nice meal, I’d happily recommend the Raven Inn at Poulshot to everyone because their food is amazing and catered really well for gluten free too.
