Rachel Weaven of face2faceHR wants to know who do you think you are?
It's the last day of May and the weather is heating up! This month we've been talking to small business owners about their favourite memories, sharing their business tips and more. Today we're talking to Rachel Weaven, HR Consultant of face2faceHR and she wants to know 'who are you?'
Rachel offers tailored, flexible HR solutions to small – medium sized businesses in and around the Swindon and Marlborough area.
Who do you think you are?
How did you read that? Was it aggressive or did you read it sympathetically?
Did you sing it? #spicegirls
Communication is the most common cause of conflict in the workplace and a lot of it comes down to misinterpretation of what people have said especially with a lot of our communication being through email and text.
The impact of this in the workplace can have significant impact on the business such as:
- decreased productivity.
- misunderstandings, conflict, and low morale. It can also lead to mistakes, missed deadlines, and poor decision-making. In the long term, it can damage relationships, hinder collaboration, and even result in the loss of talented employees. Therefore, it's so important to understand different styles of communication in the workplace.
I work on a proactive approach and if you can put things in place to reduce the negative, it’s beneficial all round because it:
- Increases productivity and efficiency,
- Creates better collaboration and teamwork,
- Creates higher employee engagement and job satisfaction,
- Creates fewer misunderstandings and conflicts,
- Increases trust and respect.
Overall, good communication can positively impact various aspects of a workplace, contributing to a more positive and successful work environment and who doesn’t want that?!
As part of my proactive approach, I am a licensed Insights practitioner and I run workshops for teams so they can better understand their own communication style and others. It’s a great tool as it takes away the personal side of the awkward conversation and really allows people to explore the best ways to interact with each other.
This is why I am running a workshop on Thursday 29th June in Swindon for individuals to come along and receive their own personality profile. It’s interactive and fun and you can sign up here: https://buy.stripe.com/14k8ymdQAfnKcbm9AA
