Rehabilitation Course for Sports Professionals Launches in October

A NEW course run by Wiltshire-based company Core Elements will help sports massage therapists from across the UK take the next step towards helping their patients.

The rehabilitation course at the Jury’s Inn, in Swindon, is designed for anyone who has a Level 3 or 4 sports massage qualification and is keen to help their clients recover more quickly from injury. Completing the full course and assessment will lead to a Level 5 diploma.

The course has been designed by Core Elements founder Dawn Morse who is known nationally as a leading expert in sports therapy massage. In the last year she’s delivered training to fellow professionals across the UK including those supporting the national Welsh rugby team.

“By attending this course, participants will upskill and can offer an additional service to their valued clients and a more rounded treatment. They will be taught the different stages of injury rehabilitation including, early, middle and late, and how best to rehabilitate the client and injury during these stages.”

Leading the course will be Katie Campbell, 35, who has recently joined the Core Elements team of leading experts in sports massage therapy.

Katie said: “It’s a great way to ensure your clients are maintaining their level of fitness throughout the injury process rather than stopping exercise altogether because of a knee or shoulder injury. It will allow your clients to go back to their previous level of fitness more quickly.”

Katie, who is based in Corsham and works in Chippenham, did her undergraduate degree in sports therapy at the University of Bath and has just completed a Post Graduate Certificate in strength and conditioning.

Dawn said: “It’s fantastic to have Katie as part of my team offering these important skills to professionals across the UK. In our world, it’s vital to upskill and also to ensure you are always learning about new thinking and developments in our sector.”

The next Core Elements rehabilitation course will be held from Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October 21 from 9.30am to 6pm daily. The cost is £420, with an option to pay in instalments and a 10% discount for current STA & FHT members and graduates from Core Elements' Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy course. For more details on the course, visit www.coreelements.uk.com/Rehab.
