Rob Curtis of The Pursuit Agency has had a brilliant 2023!

It’s almost Christmas! It’s the final stretch for businesses as they prepare to take time off this festive season. We’re talking to small businesses to see how the last 12 months have been for them.

Today, Rob Curtis, founder of the Pursuit Agency is telling us what the year has been like for him. The Pursuit Agency is an award-winning digital marketing agency based in Workshed, Swindon.

What does December mean for your business?
December brings a unique rhythm to our business at The Pursuit Agency. While it can be a quieter month for client engagement, it's a golden opportunity for strategic planning and creative brainstorming. We utilise this time to refine our services, explore new ideas, and set ambitious goals for the upcoming year. It's a period of recharging and reinvigorating our passion for delivering exceptional results.

Give us a flavour of your highlights of 2023.
2023 has been a remarkable year! It was tough to pick but my 5 highlights are:

We celebrated our one-year anniversary. 

• Our team expanded with incredibly talented individuals, enhancing our creative capabilities.
• We launched several successful campaigns that not only achieved but also exceeded our clients' expectations.
• Our agency received two incredible awards. Startup of the Year from the Great British Business Awards and Driven by Data award at the Techies!
• Personally, I had the opportunity to attend and speak at several influential events, not only getting to sharing our vision but learn from peers! And travelling the globe to do so! 

Would you like to thank anyone who has been especially helpful to you throughout this year?
Absolutely! I'd like to extend a heartfelt thanks to my incredible team and partners, whose dedication and creativity are the lifeblood of our agency. A special mention to our clients who trust us with their brands – your faith fuels our pursuit of excellence. And, of course, my family, for their unwavering support and understanding through the highs and lows of this entrepreneurial journey.

Have you done anything for charity or your community this year?
Whilst not targeting a specific charity this year, we have donated to multiple charities to support local businesses who are making a difference in the world, as well as contributing in sponsorship to Local football clubs, Swindon Town FC and Blunsdon Girls Under 9s! Our contributions this year have accumulated to just over £6,300 in all! We will be announcing a charity for 2024 and setting a goal to raise funds for them! Keep your eyes peeled! 

December 3 was Small Business Saturday in the UK. Can you name up to three local independent'retail' businesses you would recommend using?
I adore the local business community in Swindon, I enjoy being part of such a caring vibrant community! Some of my favourites are:

• Just for Fun Holiday Club - Sean and the team are incredible. My daughters love going in every holiday. My eldest even wants to work there! 
• Love Brownies is my go-to coffee place! They are the real heroes of our town, keeping the team and I fuelled for delivering great work!
• Magic Touch Promotions because I love branded merchandise! These guys constantly support us throughout the year! 

What has been your proudest moment in 2023?
Watching my wife Stephanie, who is a nurse, excel in her career! She's the true hero in our family! Also, getting to watch my two daughters blossom into lovely humans, their dedications to their passions, performing arts, painting and football is a true pleasure to watch! Proud is an understatement!

If you could choose three words to sum up 2023 what would they be?
Innovative, Collaborative and Fulfilling. 2023 was a year of pushing boundaries, fostering teamwork, and achieving a sense of fulfilment both professionally and personally. These words encapsulate the essence of our journey this year at thepursuitagency.com.
