March 8th is International Women’s Day – so we caught up with Sara Tye, Founder of Redhead PR, to find out all about her business and her plans for the month of March!

How is March looking for you in your business? Share your plans, events or something else?

We are always very busy in March as businesses really put their foot down when it comes to growth. Whether that's working on their marketing or coaching on how to master their own PR, social media, and marketing. Businesses with products such as DIY, gardening and cooking have their biggest months at Easter so lots of pre, during and post work getting consumers interested in these

I have a trip to a top end international bridal gown business to discuss global marketing and PR and I can't think all a better business visits then looking at beautiful bridal gowns on a spring day in London.

We also have a business lunch with PPS chartered accountants on March 30th to network listen to fantastic speakers of which I am one haha and eat wonderful food.

Are you taking part in any wider events or business collaborations this month?

My consultancy redheadPR has been working with the Kickstarter scheme supports young people on Universal Credit to get back into work. I'm very passionate about helping young people achieve the correct skills for their careers. in fact one of my young PRs from many years ago is now president of the IPR and I am very proud of this and what she's achieved.

This month it’s International Women’s Day, Pancake Day, St David’s Day, National No Smoking Day – is there an awareness day or week this month which is important to you or your business?

Because I run PR consultancy and coach business owners, nearly every awareness day is important to us and in fact we use international awareness days as we work with clients all over the world such as Germany, Switzerland the US and Italy. For me though it's always International Women’s Day as I hope through the work I do I can help women all over the world grow and run their own businesses giving them financial stability and empowerment

Did you know that March 18 is Awkward Moments Day? Can you share any awkward moments with us in business or life (funny not rude please!)

I swim in cold water all through the winter and by accident because I was so cold when I got out of the lake, I took my costume off and stood there naked and pink for quite a while I obviously wasn't thinking straight. That was awkward for everyone else in the car park

March is also Mother’s Day (March 27) is this an important day for your business? If so why?

Mother’s day is a huge day for women all over the world and my client who has a huge YouTube channel engages with women pre during and post pregnancy helping them with anxieties, questions and information that they can get rarely elsewhere and of course with my other clients it may be about products or experiences that mothers would enjoy.

Would you like to share your thoughts about your mother, a mother figure in your life or your life with a mother or as a mother?

I had two mother figures in my life the late Dame Anita Roddick who I worked for doing PR at 25 you inspired me that business can be done differently and my own mother who run a residential home for the elderly and cared for the aged in the most lovely way. Both helped me see that my dynamic, driven, obsessive nature was actually normal.

In the yearly cycle of your business – what do you expect during March? Eg. busy, quiet, planning etc.

March is so busy for us and a especially me as I have two daughters who are adopted so we're in between lots of holidays, it's spring which I love and as I train triathlon and garden I'm really busy at weekends. Most of all my clients are on their way to the second quarter of the year and pre summer so everyone's manic.
