September brings the launch of new products for the House of St Johns

We’re almost at the end of September. Children have gone back to school and small business owners across the UK are trying to get back into business.

Today we’re talking to Hollie Markham who is Head of Operations for the House of St Johns based in which offers high-end work and event space in the heart of Bath.

What’s been happening for your business in September?
We have two new products that we have been launching in September that we’re so excited to share; firstly, we’ve added a 15-day co-working pass giving members 10 hours access per session as standard and this includes all of our wonderful member benefits as well.

Secondly, we are launching Bath’s first ever young professionals co-working offer that is for any professionals aged 35 and under.

September is ‘back to school’ month – is this relevant to you personally or professionally?
‘Back to school’ for House of St John’s means that we get to see all our lovely members who have had the summer off to spend time with family and friends.

I am really looking forward to having the hustle and bustle of the House back. I’m sure our clients are keen to get back to some peace and quiet in the workplace and enjoy some uninterrupted adult time.

The summer holidays are a quiet time onsite which has allowed us to plan and prep for the rest of our year and the start of 2023. We’re so excited to launch our new products, as well as a full events programme.

Today is World Gratitude Day, what are you grateful for at the moment?
I personally write what I am grateful for every day - I always do 3 things I’m grateful for which sets my day up positively and gets me in a great mindset. It can be the simplest thing like the sun being out. If you do it consistently you leave yourself very little room for things that may have a negative effective on your outlook… try it - it’s been brilliant for me during and post pandemic!

Who are you grateful for at the moment?
My twin sisters, Freja and Jade, although as they are twins so they should count as one! They have always been my biggest supporters, sounding boards and No.1 fans.

Of course, my Mum, Kate, who I have finally got to see in August after 3 years apart due to the pandemic, she needs no introduction - she’s just a powerhouse of a woman.

And my partner Josh, his dry sense of humour makes me laugh daily and his straight-talking approach keeps me focused and determined on achieving my goals.

What are your hopes for business for the rest of this year?
I hope those that have struggled during the pandemic, really start to flourish again.

I wish new businesses that have just been launched every success and support that they deserve – it’s brave setting up something new in a saturated market.

I predict we will see an influx of new and inspiring individuals coming into the city who are relocating and bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge with them

Have you got any events planned you’d like to shout about – either that you are running or attending?
Absolutely! We are so happy to be launching our events programme ‘Events with Purpose’ and have such a variety of events that cater for everyone in Bath.

Other events that we have planned include:
Bath Girl’s in Business which is every Thursday of the month and is for anyone who identifies as female to join a network of like-minded professionals.

Our new start up Collaboration Day which is aimed at new business owners who looking to connect and network with like-minded entrepreneurs. Our first two of these sessions are scheduled for Wednesday 21st September and Monday 17th October but we will have more planned for later in the year so keep an eye out.

Our event Property Market – what to expect in 2022/23 will see a panel of industry experts explore questions relating to the property market.

We have so much happening and the best way to stay up to date is sign up to our mailing list either via the website or by emailing [email protected]

Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
We’re so excited to launch Bath’s first ever ‘Young professional co-working offering’ giving a whopping 35% off for young professionals. For more information please do get in touch, [email protected]

And finally, September 30 is International Podcast Day – do you listen to podcasts, or do you have one of your own? Can you share a tip? Which podcasts should others check out?
I have quite an active brain that struggles to switch off from work-mode, so when I listen to podcasts, I like to listen to real life ones such as James English. I like history but with a twist, so I like Bailey Sarian’s Dark History. I also like Happy Place by Fern Cotton however my favourite has to be The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett
