SOUTH WEST ENTREPRENEUR WINS PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD FOR PANDEMIC SUPPORT
Jodie Fraser, founder of Fraser Allen Estate Management, is celebrating after receiving an award for Pandemic Response of the Year in the only national awards for block management experts.
The 38-year-old property and block manager and her team received the award at a glittering event in London (November 30) hosted by News On The Block. She was presented with her award by tv presenter and comedian Paul Sinha, best known for appearing on the tv series The Chase and Bob Smytherman, of the Private Residents’ Associations.
Jodie said: “It was amazing to be recognised in this way as we did work really hard to support landlords and residents during the various lockdowns. This could be with shopping, collecting prescriptions or other little tasks which became difficult when residents were unable to get around.”
Fraser Allen Estate Management provides block management services for more than 30 sites across the UK, including Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and London. She was also highly commended for the award of Regional Block Manager of the Year and was a finalist for the award of Property Management Company of the Year.
The awards came in the same week that Jodie also attended a reception at the House of Lords to celebrate being one of the Small Business 100 in 2020. This annual campaign always culminates in the UK on Small Business Saturday which was on December 4 this year.
Fraser Allen Estate Management was named one of the SmallBiz100 last year in recognition of her impressive entrepreneurial journey and Jodie met Small Business Minister, Paul Scully and other winner business owners.
Now in its ninth year in the UK, Small Business Saturday celebrates small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local' and support businesses in their communities.
Michelle Ovens CBE, director of Small Business Saturday UK said:
“Hosting this special event at the House of Lords for amazing businesses felt like the best way to say a big thank you for their incredible effort and contribution over these past tough couple of years. They can be really proud of everything they’ve achieved.”
Small Business Minister Paul Scully praised the business owners for their continued commitment to their communities:
“From the pubs, restaurants and shops that make our high streets tick, to leisure and personal care services – like the hairdresser who saved my post-lockdown blushes last year – small businesses are at the heart of our way of life.”
A grass roots, not-for-profit campaign Small Business Saturday was originally founded by American Express in the U.S. in 2010. It remains the principal supporter of the campaign in the UK, as part of its ongoing support of the UK high street and commitment to encouraging consumers to shop small.
Fraser Allen, working in partnership with solicitor Andrew Turner of Hughes Paddison offered free consultations for anyone who was concerned about a lease or property agreement as part of their support for Small Business Saturday.
