SOUTH WEST’S LEADING PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY LAUNCHES IN MALMESBURY
One of the South West’s leading performing arts companies for children and young people is now offering classes in Malmesbury.
Swindon-based Revolution Performing Arts (RPA) launched their classes this month at the Riverside Community Centre, Gloucester Road, Malmesbury. The launch event offered Street Dance and Performing Arts classes for four to 11 year old girls and boys.
These classes will continue to be held regularly every Saturday with a Street Dance class for the juniors (four to seven year olds) at 9.30am and for the seniors (seven to 11 year olds) at 11.30am and with the Performing Arts classes for juniors at 10.30am and seniors at 12.30pm.
Hannah Grafton – affectionately known as Graffers – is the new leader of the Malmesbury RPA and is also new to Revolution Performing Arts.
Hannah (26) lives in North Swindon and says she has danced ever since she was a little girl. She has had four years’ experience teaching four to 18 year olds and working professionally in the performing arts industry in dancing, singing and acting.
Hannah is loving working with RPA and said: “I’ve never experienced such a caring company – supporting the leaders as well as the young people. RPA’s ethos of nurturing, expression and empowerment extends to everyone in abundance.”
Founder of RPA, Fi Da Silva Adams said: “I used to live in Malmesbury as a child and then, after I left university, I returned to Malmesbury and lived in a beautiful apartment overlooking Daniel’s Well. I don’t believe there is anything like Revolution Performing Arts in Malmesbury and I am so thrilled to be returning and bringing these classes to this wonderful town.
“A parent saw what we are doing in other areas and asked if we would come to Malmesbury so we’re now here!”
At the moment, there are classes only on Saturdays, but if there is more demand Fi will consider introducing some after-school sessions. Although based in Swindon, RPA has venues in North Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and specialises in empowering young people to celebrate their individuality through the power of performing arts.
Revolution Performing Arts was founded in 2007. All the teachers are DBS checked, trained in first aid and receive training in safeguarding protocols.
