Tell us a little bit about yourself…

There is 2 sides to me and both I love. My most important role is that of a Mum to my amazing little boy Taylor and then there is the work me, the work me is fast paced, dealing with various scenarios and multi-tasking to work with my client’s needs.

What is your role at Responsive Personnel?

My role as Recruitment Consultant means I cover everything from generating new business, account management of existing business, recruiting candidates and placing them into suitable job roles.

What services do Responsive Personnel offer?

RP offers temporary and permanent recruitment, predominantly in the industrial sector, but we can support our clients with a wide variation of skill sets.  Our consultants come from different industry backgrounds, so combined together means we have a wealth of knowledge between us. We also support candidates from most industries, meaning we will be pro-active and take them out to market and assist in finding suitable roles

How is Responsive Personnel different to any other recruitment agency in Swindon?

I could think of lots of things, but in particular one that stands out for me is the candidate care we provide. Agencies tend to get a bad name from a candidate’s perspective for poor communication or experience, and I’ve not come across any since working here. From a client’s perspective, we provide quality. A few businesses I work with currently have all fed back that the candidates we supply are exactly what they’ve needed, and they last! We can work to extremely tight timescales which a number of clients can appreciate in this climate.

What inspired you to fulfil a career in the recruitment industry? What made you decide to work for Responsive Personnel?

When I left school, I attempted college and didn’t last very long. I wanted to get out there and earn money. I did some temporary agency jobs myself when I wasn’t sure what career path to go down, and that’s when I thought I want to be the other side. I enjoy the rush of recruitment, along with the challenges. If I’m being honest I get bored easily, and industrial recruitment changes every 5 minutes and pulls you in all directions. I absolutely love speaking to people and getting to know them, the variety of people you meet and learn about is so enjoyable.  

How can you help individuals who are looking for a career change?

As a consultant, my job is to interview my candidates, and I do this in depth. I get to know them, what they enjoy day-to-day, what are their 3 top things they need from their next job etc. I then cross reference what skills can be transferred in to what job environment would suit them. I always say to my candidates if they think they are underqualified for something to apply anyway! You don’t know who you’re being benchmarked against and if you get to interview stage then it’s always good practice to attend.
