Let's Talk
It's All About Visuals
With social media now a common part of our daily routines, more and more people are spending their time checking, updating and scouring their favourite social media sites. But what makes you stand out?
It’s all in the visuals. If you imagine scrolling through your never ending Twitter feed, with words upon words, not everything catches your attention.
It can be a little tedious filtering down the rubbish – so while you may put effort into making your tweet/status/post intellectually stimulating, don’t forget to make it visually appealing too.
Whether it’s using scenic images, or adding text and icons, make the most of your chance to grasp your audiences attention. Once you’ve caught their attention, make sure the information accompanying the image is short, snappy and to the point.
You don’t always have to use an image to accompany information; in fact don’t over use them. Similarly you don’t always have to have an image accompanied by information. Occasionally just spice up your Facebook page, Twitter feed, Linkedin profile with relevant and engaging images.
You can also use images as a call to action … Using text to ask question, and an image relevant to your topic, you can both catch the attention of your audience, and receive a reactive response from them.
Our social platforms are full of information, questions and mindless babble – they’re also full of funny images, weird images and some down right WRONG images.
Remember to keep things on brand and on point, don’t be afraid to push the boundaries and be quirky, but don’t go too far across that line.
