Trio of presentations for popular Swindon networking group
Topics ranging from the Budget, asking clients to settle their bills, and using podcasts in business will all feature in presentations during March at Swindon Business Village.
The weekly breakfast networking group, which meets on Thursdays at The Campanile Hotel, West Swindon, has arranged three great presentations.
On March 5, Nicki Kinton, of Confident Cashflow, will deliver a talk called ‘Excuses, Excuses!’ giving psychological insights into why we don’t like chasing clients for payment and top tips for making that call easier to do.
On March 12, Richard Mathews, director at accountancy and law firm Optimum Professional Services, will give an analysis of the Budget – the first from the new majority Government - and the impact it could have on Swindon businesses.
Finally, on March 19, communications expert Dave Harries looks at the rise of the podcast. Dave said: “The last few years has seen an exponential increase in the popularity of the podcast with seemingly every celebrity and opinion-former launching their own ‘radio show’ on the web. Listening, or more accurately streaming, figures have gone through the roof as more and more of us subscribe to our favourite shows.”
All the events run from 7.30-9am and as well as the presentations there is an opportunity for networking, one-minute introductions about the attendees’ businesses and breakfast.
Business Village usually has two presentations each month, on the first and third Thursdays. In March, the additional presentation is to mark the Budget. The meeting format of the other Thursdays includes business problem solving (known as ‘multi-mind’) and group networking.
Swindon Business Village does not charge an annual membership fee and all events are pay-as-you-go. The fee is £10 for booking online in advance (£9 early bird) or £12 on the door.
