BusinessWise member Clare Fuller has launched Hamilton Grace Serviced Apartments to offer visitors to Swindon high quality, self-catering apartments as an alternative to local hotels.

The 45-year-old, who has lived in Wiltshire with her family for nine years, spent the last year building up a selection of apartments in central Swindon to cater for business and leisure visitors needing accommodation in the town.

She said: “I use to travel for business and found hotel accommodation very isolating and restricting .  So, when I discovered serviced accommodation, I decided to lift the bar on accommodation in Swindon by providing high quality, stylish apartments with a home from home feel.

“We now have ten central Swindon apartments from one to three bedrooms and I’m very proud of their quality and the interest we already have in them.”

Clare, who has a background in accountancy, decided to start on a new career after taking a year out with her family to re-assess her life.

She said: “I needed a new direction in my life. My job at the time was no longer working for me and my family – I was just absent too often. So, I decided it was time to take a breath and consider my future. I now run my own business, home school my children and, although this has been a journey, I finally feel I am leading the life I choose rather than one chosen for me.”

Clare’s husband Danny now works alongside her managing the operations and maintenance of the apartments and Clare has a team of housekeepers who ensure each property is kept clean and tidy ready for the next guest.  Guests book for a minimum of two nights and some book the apartments for several months at a time.

Clare said: “I’m staggered by how quickly the word has spread about Hamilton Grace. In 2017 we’ll be looking to grow out business further and look to offer accommodation in other areas.

“People are seeing Hamilton Grace as an affordable alternative to hotel accommodation with plenty of space to work on deadlines, have friends over for dinner and relax in your own lounge, they are proving to be very popular.”
