Celebrate St. Georges Day 'inSwindon'
Swindon town centre is all set to celebrate St George’s Day in style.
Swindon’s 20ft high figure of England’s Patron Saint will proudly parade through the town centre on Tuesday 23rd to commemorate the Feast of St. George.
The giant statue will lead a procession from Regent Street, along Canal Walk and finally into Wharf Green.
Teaming-up with local school children from Robert Le Kyng, Drove Primary School and many more, as well as TA Volunteers from the 280 Movement Control Squadron, inSwindon BID have planned a fun filled day for all.
The children will be divided into four groups where they will be participating in different activities.
No Added Sugar will be demonstrating and then making Dragons with the children, there will also be a sport orientated activity zone and an interactive gaming session on the Big Screen.
The procession will start at 11.00am from the Cenotaph at the top of Regent Street and the afternoon will come to a close just before 2.00pm.
