Distinction Salon go to New Lengths for Worthy Cause
Distinction Salon joined the likes of Harry Styles and Jessie J in supporting Little Princess Trust's #HairToSpare campaign.
Working closely with boys and girls across the UK that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment, the charity provides free real-hair wigs that are made from hair donations.
8 Year old Laura Szymanska bravely volunteered to have her hair cut for the charity leaving her mother, Marta, incredibly proud: “She really is inspiring! To be willing to do this at such a young age is just amazing. Everyone gets their hair cut, so why shouldn’t something good come of it?”
Barbara Lul, Level 2 Hairdressing student and a family friend of Laura, arranged the charity chop after reading about Little Princess Trust online “This is the third Little princess cut we've done now. Every time I read more about the good work they do I just want to help in any way possible. Thankfully I have willing friends in Marta and Laura.”
Laura saw her long hair transformed in to a bob and the 10 inch long locks cut will be sent to the charity for them to turn in to a wig.
Caroline Phillips, Technical Coordinator at Distinction Salon, was incredibly grateful to Laura for taking part and enabling the salon to help the trust, “If it wasn’t for girls like Laura, we as a society wouldn’t be able to help these poor little boys and girls. It might only seem like a wig to some people, but it’s so important to do everything possible to help them with their condition.”
