Hairdressing Student Goes to ‘Great Lengths’
A hairdressing student at Swindon College went to great lengths for one of her clients this week, when she requested a little more than ‘just a trim’.
Level 3 Hairdressing Apprentice Amy Ferris, 19 was tasked to cut an incredible 30cms from the bottom of client Krishna Mistry’s hair – all in the name of charity.
Krishna, 17, an existing client of the college’s on-site salon ‘Inspirations’ was inspired by her cousin who recently donated some of her hair to the ‘Little Princess Trust’ – a charity that provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
‘’After learning that my cousin had kindly donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust I looked in to it myself’’ said Krishna.
‘’My hair is so long, so if I can help somebody else just by cutting it off then I’m happy to do so.’’
Asked how they were feeling before the big snip Amy and Krishna said they were ‘a little nervous’.
‘’I’ve never cut that much off of a client’s hair before’’ said Amy. ‘’Krishna was really brave. It’s such a fantastic thing to do for a great cause.’’
