‘Tami’s Wish’ for 50 Cuts in 50 Hours
This September Chris Miller, style director at Miller & Holland Hairdressing is set to complete a whopping 50 back-to-back haircuts in 50 hours.
This heart-warming charity challenge comes after Chris’s close friend Tami Brown, sadly lost her battle with cancer at the tender age of 28.
Tami's overwhelmingly positive outlook on life is said to be what has compelled her family and friends to help raise money in her memory. The event has been organised by 'Tami's Angels', a fifteen strong group of Tami's close friends and family who have made it their mission to continue Tami’s legacy and all of her fundraising goals.
The hair cutting extravaganza will be raising money for two charities via Tami’s fundraising organisation ‘Tami’s Wish’. All of the cut donations will be going to the charity Yes to Life and all of the on-the-day donations for services happening around the 50 cuts challenge will be going to the Prospect Hospice.
Over the weekend, other local businesses are going to be supporting the cause and providing extra services in exchange for donations. Expect to see a nail artists, masseurs and even kids' face painters. There will also be live music over the Saturday and Sunday afternoons from some of Tami’s favourite local musicians.
The cuts are priced at £50 each and the event itself is going to be held in the entrance of the Brunel Centre in Swindon’s town centre, right behind Lush. The first chop will begin the Saturday morning on the 8th of September at 9am and finish on Monday 10th September at 11am.
Tami's boyfriend Kris commented, "Tami's amazing outlook on life and her positive attitude meant that she was never really effected mentally by cancer. She truly embraced life and made people realise it's not about how much you have, it's about what you do with the time that you have and the people in your life."
By sharing her story last year when she created Tami's Wish, she influenced thousands to raise money for her cause.
