REVIEW: Hall & Woodhouse Wichelstowe NEW Lunch Menu
Hall and Woodhouse is a delightful gem that's situated in Wichelstowe. My colleagues and I received an invitation to experience their freshly launched lunch menu.
The new lunch menu at Hall and Woodhouse Wichelstowe is a culinary delight, offering an array of dishes crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From a classic Honey Roast Ham & Cheddar Toastie, Toasted Club Sandwich to a Chicken and Bacon Salad, Mediterranean Vegetable Tart, there's something to tantalise every taste bud.
The attention to detail in presentation and the flavoursome combinations truly elevate the dining experience.
Charles welcomed us with warmth and amiability, escorting us to our table. Their beverage selection stands out with an impressive variety, showcasing an extensive range of craft beers, ciders, and a thoughtfully curated wine list. Additionally, their Winter drinks menu introduces delightful cocktails like the Italian Winter Collins, Spiced Rum Mule, and the tantalising Edmunds Gingerbread Espresso Martini.
The knowledgeable staff are always on hand to offer recommendations, ensuring a perfect pairing with your meal. I chose the Folkington's Cloudy Apple Juice, Ellie had a pint of diet Coke, while Tracey opted for a delightful hot chocolate.
The menu boasted an array of tantalising dishes, making it a challenge to decide. Eventually, I settled on the Hot Steak and Flat Mushroom Ciabatta, paired perfectly with delightfully crispy skin-on fries. Feeling particularly hungry, I couldn't resist ordering a side of the mini mac and cheese as well.
The Hot Steak and Flat Mushroom Ciabatta arrived impeccably cooked to a delightful pink hue, adorned with a flavourful Nduja butter, tangy pickled red onions, and refreshing watercress. The Mac 'n' Cheese stole the show - it was absolutely divine, it was incredibly creamy with a luscious, cheese-laden allure that made it utterly delicious.
Ellie treated herself to the Crispy Halloumi Khobez Wrap, accompanied by a mix of fresh leaves, red onion, and a tantalising sriracha mayo, served alongside scrumptious skin-on fries.
As if the halloumi fix wasn't complete, Ellie also decided on a side of Halloumi Fries accompanied by a delightful Chili Jam.
Tracey went for the Southern Fried Chicken Burger, adorned with BBQ mayonnaise, lettuce, cheese, pickles, served alongside a side of burger sauce and fries. She also ordered a side of the Mini Mac 'n' Cheese to accompany her meal.
Ellie was in love with the diverse range of flavours in her dish and particularly relished the pot of chili jam that accompanied the halloumi fries. Meanwhile, Tracey found the burger wonderfully crispy and found the pairing with her side of mac 'n' cheese to be an excellent match. Both Ellie and Tracey thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
I strongly urge you to visit Hall & Woodhouse Wichelstowe this Winter and savour their divine new lunch menu. Whether you're organising a Christmas party or reveling in the festive season with loved ones, this place deserves a top spot on your list.
