RECIPE: Chickpea Hummus
This delicious chickpea hummus recipe from Urban Green Cuisine makes a great, healthy condiment for a variety meals! Try it for yourself:
Ingredients:
- 1 Tin of chickpeas, drained
- 1 tbsp. Tahini
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- ½ Lemon juiced
- Salt & pepper
- 4 tbsp Water
- 2 tbsp extra virgin oil
Additional flavourings:
- Beetroot – blend in 2 pre-cooked beetroot bulbs & 1 tsp of horseradish for an extra kick
- Roasted peppers – blend in 1 pre-cooked roasted red pepper and ½ tsp of chilli powder
- Roasted Squash & Sage – blend in pre-roasted squash in garlic and sage
Method:
- Blend all ingredients together until smooth, add more water if required for the required consistency.
- Serve with raw chopped vegetables
