Review: Leonardo Hotel Dinner Menu
The Leonardo Hotel is a well-facilitated hotel, in the centre of Swindon. Part of what they offer customers for a wonderful stay is their stylish hotel restaurant.
I recently was invited to dine at Bar & Grill at Leonardo that left a lasting impression with its efficient order taking and inviting atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that this establishment valued prompt service and a comfortable environment.
Our meal began with the crispy squid, a shared starter that arrived promptly and was well-presented. The dish arrived hot, complemented perfectly with the refreshing slice of lemon given on the side. Completed with a refreshing garlic and aioli dip, this set a high standard for the rest of the evening.
To go with our meal, we opted for a bottle of Wicked Lady White Zinfandel, which offered a delightful sweetness that complemented our main dishes wonderfully. The restaurant's subtle fragrance added a pleasant layer to the dining experience, enhancing the overall ambiance.
The décor was a fusion of contemporary elements, featuring a mix of loungers and wooden chairs that exuded comfort and style. The choice of upbeat lounge music played at just the right volume created a cosy yet lively atmosphere that encouraged conversation.
What stood out was the attentive and friendly bar staff. They took the time to explain the ordering process thoroughly, ensuring that we felt comfortable and informed. Their cheerful demeanour added a warmth to the overall experience, making us feel genuinely welcomed.
For our main meals, we selected a Ribeye Steak and Steak Frites from ‘The Grill’ section of the menu, the Leonardo’s menu also boasts pizzas, burgers and classic dishes. We opted for a side of sweet potato fries for the Ribeye Steak meal, which came with a small branch of cooked tomatoes. Their flavours accompanied the star of the show satisfactorily, the moist steak, cooked to our request of medium-rare. The sweet potato fries were had a soft crunch to their outside while maintaining a fluffy goodness within. The Steak Frites was presented on a bed of skin-on fries that were salted to perfection. Providing the cherry on top to the Steak Frites, was a parmesan side salad with shavings of chilled cheese and fresh, crunchy leaves, rounding out the meal.
In summary, this restaurant's efficient service, appealing ambiance, and attentive staff made for an enjoyable evening. Whether for a casual dinner or a gathering with friends, it's a place where one can indulge in good food and unwind in a relaxed setting.
