REVIEW: Slim Chickens, The Latest Food Chain to hit Swindon Designer Outlet

Slim Chickens, a popular fast food restaurant which has venues all around the UK including Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester, has today opened in Swindon, so we had to try it out!

The much-anticipated restaurant opened at 12pm on Wednesday 18th October, and very quickly a large queue formed outside the door as customers eagerly awaited to be welcomed in and try the food. As 12pm hit, they officially opened and people were welcomed in to order their food.

It didn't take long until we were shown to a self-order screen and we began to scan through the extensive menu and place our orders. We went and took a seat at a table and within just 10 minutes, the food was brought out to us. We went for a Slim Wrap Meal with Garlic Cheese and a Terry's Chocolate Orange Milkshake, the 3 Wings, 3 Tenders Mix Meal with Texas Bread and Honey BBQ, Garlic Cheese & House Ranch, plus a Biscoff Milkshake. Finally, we opted for the Classic Chicken Sandwich Meal with a Strawberry Milkshake. As a, added bonus, we were also given three free chicken tenders as we were one of the first customers!

Each meal came with a generous portion of salted chips, and the choice of a whole range of different sauces to choose from. The chicken was soft, tender and very tasty, and the different sauces complimented it perfectly. The milkshakes were to die for - they were that perfect thick consistency yet so smooth. 

The staff were also very attentive, making sure we had all the sauces we needed and asking if everything was okay with our meals. Sometimes you expect a few teething issues when a food establishment opens for the first time, however everything ran very smoothly and the service was spot on.

The pricing is very reasonable, as each of these meals cost around £13 so it's definitely cheaper than the likes of Five Guys, but slightly more pricey than KFC - but you definitely get what you pay for here.

This is a great addition to Swindon's food traders and we will definitely be returning!
