Review: The Weighbridge Lunch Express Menu

We recently visited the beautiful Weighbridge Steakhouse and Bar to sample their “Lunch Express” menu, available Monday - Saturday from 12pm until 6pm.

We have visited The Weighbridge Steakhouse and Bar on many occasions, but we normally visit on an evening or for their renowned Sunday Lunch, so this was a lovely midweek treat and we were certainly not disappointed.

Our table of four included two guests from out of town who commented on what a “wonderful, contemporary and impressive restaurant The Weighbridge was”. The building is simply stunning flooded with light and on a very rainy Wednesday was warm and inviting.

The venue was fully compliant with Covid-19 safety regulations and is immaculately clean. 

We were greeted by our friendly waitress who talked us through the mouth-watering lunch express menu of £10 for a main meal and a drink (including a half pint of standard lager or beer, 125ml of wine or draught carbonated soft drink) and extras of starters or desserts which can be added on for only £3. What excellent value for money. 

The generous mushroom starter and garlic bread which we opted for as our sharing starters were simply moreish to the extent that we enquired how the sauce was made.

Our impressive selection of mains included half a rack of ribs, 6oz cheeseburger and a crispy tender chicken sandwich. The portions were extremely generous and as usual from The Weighbridge the produce was exceptional. 

All of our mains were substantial, flavoursome, fresh and satisfying. Although the selection of desserts such as ice cream and apple crumble looked appealing, we simply couldn't fit in anymore!

We applaud The Weighbridge on such a satisfying and value for money lunch menu and excellent service, and would highly recommend booking. You will not be disappointed!
