REVIEW: Sausage Making Workshop at Cobbs Farm Shop

I recently attended the Sausage Making Workshop at Cobbs Farm Shop in Hungerford, and I can’t recommend it enough! From start to finish, the experience was both informative and hands-on, making it ideal for beginners and food enthusiasts alike. A great autumn evening activity to do with your partner or a friend!

We started off the workshop with a delicious sausage bap, kingdly sourced from Cobbs Farm Shop! The workshop was led by two knowledgeable and friendly butchers who made the whole process fun and engaging. We started by learning about the different cuts of meat, seasoning options, and the basics of sausage casing, which gave us a solid foundation. It was clear that Cobbs Farm Shop values quality ingredients, as everything we used was locally sourced and incredibly fresh.

Once we got to the actual sausage-making, it was all hands on deck! We had the opportunity to try out a few different flavor combinations, I chose to make oninon and leak sauasages, and the instructor encouraged us to be creative with spices and herbs. It was a lot of fun experimenting, and by the end, I felt quite proud of my creations. Plus, they provided plenty of assistance and tips on how to get the best consistency and flavor. After that, we learned the art of casing the sausages, a skillful process that took a few tries to master but was very satisfying. Finally, we tied off each sausage, creating links that looked almost professional!

One of the best parts was getting to take home the sausages we made, I am looking forward to tasting my creations at home! The setting itself was fantastic too—Cobbs Farm Shop has a welcoming atmosphere and is packed with wonderful local products, so it was nice to browse around just before the workshop as well..

Overall, this workshop was a great mix of education, creativity, and hands-on experience. Whether you’re a foodie, a home cook, or just looking for a fun evening activity, this sausage-making workshop at Cobbs Farm Shop is well worth it. I left with newfound skills, delicious sausages, and some great memories. Highly recommended!
